Regional Privacy Counsel
- Provide privacy advice and guidance to support SEEK’s APAC businesses (across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines).
- Demonstrate sound judgment in identifying and mitigating privacy risks and ensuring SEEK’s businesses are proactively informed and compliant with applicable privacy laws.
- Assist in developing a privacy documentation repository, resources and tools in collaboration with other team members to deliver key outcomes per SEEK’s privacy roadmap.
- Monitor change in laws in the Philippines which may impact SEEK’s businesses.
- Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the organization relating to data protection, privacy and security.
Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Act as SEEK’s DPO in the Philippines in accordance with local data protection and privacy laws including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 10173 (IRR) and NPC issuances.
- Monitor compliance with local data protection and privacy laws.
- Manage the timely registration and renewal of all certificates, licenses, systems, seals, etc. required to ensure compliance with all local data protection and privacy laws.
- Develop, implement and periodically review internal policies, procedures, regulations and forms etc. to ensure compliance with local data protection and privacy laws.
- Manage and advise on data subject requests and complaints ensuring timely and compliant responses.
- Manage data breach and security incident responses, including timely reporting.
- Lead the preparation and submission of any regulatory assessments, checklists, audits and/or fillings required by local data protection and privacy laws, and coordinate submissions to the NPC and/or local authorities.
- Serve as the contact point between SEEK, local data subjects, the NPC, and other local authorities.
- Build data privacy awareness within the organisation by running training and awareness sessions.
- Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory changes in the Philippines that may impact SEEK's businesses, provide timely advice, guidance and updates to team members and stakeholders on developments in relation to privacy compliance requirements.
- You may also be requested to perform the role of data protection officer in local markets as required.
- A law degree from a reputable university/college.
- Deep knowledge of data privacy and data protection principles, policies and practices.
- Experience in interpreting, implementing and operationalizing privacy compliance programs.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience (postgraduation) focusing on data protection and privacy, cybersecurity, legal or compliance in the Philippines and/or the wider Asia region.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to learn quickly, identify and resolve privacy and business issues, drive projects and build the confidence and trust of stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and also thrive as part of a diverse, cross‑functional team.

- The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a broader team and to manage a variety of stakeholders.
- A ‘common-sense’ approach when handling privacy matters that balances technical legal requirements with commercial considerations.
- Excellent attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
