About the Role
We're seeking a Clinical Data Engineer to contribute to our Clinical Data Team. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain Python-based integrations and automation solutions that connect clinical systems across our hospital network, and help enable seamless, secure data workflows that support the future of patient care across the organization.
This role is remote, based in the U.S., and requires U.S. work authorization.
What You'll Do
- Partner with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to ensure aligned, well-communicated data integration strategies
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of HL7 interfaces and workflows using Mirth Connect and related technologies
- Support and improve clinical data systems and integrations across a network of hospitals
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues related to EHR transport and storage to inform timely, effective resolutions
- Communicate progress, insights, and recommendations clearly across cross-functional teams
What You Have
- Experience working in clinical data systems, EHR integration, or a related field (5+ years, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to build data integration and automation solutions using Python
- Comfort working with Mirth Connect, HL7 standards, Docker, and virtual computing environments
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- A thoughtful, organized approach to maintaining patient data security while enabling appropriate stakeholder access
Bonus Points For
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu
- Exposure to automated testing practices in a clinical or regulated environment
