Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manufacturing & Process Engineering Intern to support our engineering and manufacturing teams by improving how critical equipment and process knowledge is documented, organized, and used across operations.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to create troubleshooting resources, process documentation, and operational support tools that help improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and improve troubleshooting guides, setup instructions, and visual work instructions
- Help build standardized equipment documentation and centralized troubleshooting libraries
- Document process settings, recovery procedures, and equipment operating parameters
- Audit existing manufacturing documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to capture and organize technical knowledge
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process robustness and operational efficiency

Education
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with data in Excel, JMP, Python, or similar tools
- Basic understanding of manufacturing data and statistics (yield, Cp/Cpk, process variation)
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly summarize technical information
- Prior internship, lab, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required

Working Conditions/Hours/Location
This role is an hourly position, and the intern will be required to work at least 20-25 hours per week during the summer. The start date and duration of the internship are flexible depending on availability, with a minimum commitment of 8 weeks.

Internship will take place 100% onsite in San Carlos, CA HQ’s

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment –
Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.
PPE-
May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
