Are you ready to join us? Join our Survey Tools team and help shape the future of Statista’s global consumer survey platform. You will work on a high-impact system that powers one of our most valuable data products, used across teams worldwide. This role combines maintaining existing tools with building a new, scalable data infrastructure from the ground up, offering a rare opportunity to improve a live system while designing its future. Your tasks - Work closely with the Survey and Architecture teams to design and build a modern, scalable data infrastructure for survey data - Maintain and improve existing tools and applications (e.g. internal apps) to support ongoing survey operations - Gradually redesign and migrate current workflows into a new, more robust and scalable system - Build and maintain data pipelines and backend services to ensure data quality, consistency, and availability - Contribute to the design of databases, system architecture, and internal user interfaces - Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate complex survey data processes - Ensure system performance, reliability, and maintainability while operating in a live production environment - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into practical technical solutions Your profile - Strong Python skills with experience in building backend systems, data pipelines, or similar applications - Solid understanding of databases and data modelling (e.g. SQL) and interest in designing scalable data systems - Experience with version control (Git) and a focus on clean, maintainable code - Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Flask or Django is a strong plus - Some experience building user-facing tools or interfaces (e.g. Streamlit, Dash, or similar) - Understanding of containerization or cloud environments (e.g. Docker, AWS) is a plus - Ability to work on evolving systems — balancing maintenance of existing solutions with building new ones - Structured and thoughtful approach to problem-solving, with attention to code quality and best practices - Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in an international environment - Fluent in English What we offer In addition to our great team, culture, and our shared goal of empowering people with data, there are many other things that make Statista a great place to work!
