About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Wire Harness Technician to support the development and production of electrical harness systems for our all-electric RV platform. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality by supporting harness development builds, managing incoming harness inventory, performing rework and modifications, and ensuring harness assemblies meet production and engineering requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with automotive or vehicle wire harness assemblies, some electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced development environment. Day shift will start at 7am and finish at 3:30 pm each day (Monday - Friday) with two 15 min breaks and a half hour lunch. This role is eligible for overtime pay, and occasional extra hours may be required.

Responsibilities

Harness Inspection, Receiving, and Quality Control Receive incoming harness shipments and verify parts against purchase orders and engineering documentation Perform detailed inspections of harness assemblies including connectors, pinouts, routing, labeling, and workmanship. Document inspection findings and perform rework or repairs where required. Harness Rework and Engineering Changes Perform harness rework based on engineering change notices (ECNs) or design updates. Modify harness lengths, connectors, and routing to support vehicle design revisions. Apply appropriate harness sheathing, strain relief, and protection methods as required. Harness Management and Material Handling Label harness assemblies and maintain proper revision control. Sort and organize harness inventory to ensure correct revisions are available for production builds. Manage harness storage bins and staging areas for vehicle assembly. Track reworked harnesses and maintain documentation of changes. Harness Development and Prototyping Fabricate prototype and development harnesses to support engineering builds and vehicle testing. Assist engineers in creating and validating harness designs during development phases. Build custom harness assemblies and jumper harnesses for testing and integration. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with electrical engineers, manufacturing technicians, and quality teams. Support vehicle builds, debugging, and issue resolution related to harness systems. Provide feedback on harness design improvements to increase reliability and manufacturability.

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent education, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with automotive, RV, aerospace, or heavy equipment wire harness assemblies. Strong knowledge of crimping, connector termination, and harness assembly best practices. Experience with industry-standard connectors (e.g., TE Connectivity, Molex, Deutsch, etc.). Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical schematics. Experience performing harness inspections and rework in a production or development environment. Familiarity with harness labeling, revision management, and material handling processes. Strong attention to detail and workmanship standards. Comfortable working in a hands-on prototype and production environment. This position involves the operation of hoisting and other machinery. In accordance with Colorado and federal child labor laws, employees in this role must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on electric vehicles, RVs, or complex mobile electrical systems. Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage vehicle electrical architectures. Experience supporting prototype vehicle builds or early-stage product development. Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as multimeters, continuity testers, and harness testers. IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent harness assembly training.

Compensation Actual pay rate will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Lightship compensation consists of the stated pay range plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.
