General Engineer, AST, Mission Support Requirements and Development
Description
The Ground Integration Engineer for the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program will be responsible for technical integration across assigned elements of EGS - the Orion and Space Launch System Programs, as well as various engineering disciplines throughout the product life cycle. This includes developing requirements, supporting program level trade studies, leading subsystem testing for requirement verification activities, directing and supporting firing room console operations.
Serves as the senior integrator for requirements development, integration, and implementation planning for ground systems required to support vehicle, spacecraft, and payload processing. Leads program technical integration efforts, including engineering and operations relationships, to ensure internal and external integration regarding programmatic compliance to NASA procedural requirements. Serves as an expert on developing requirements, stakeholder expectations, design verification objectives, design validation objectives, and ensuring they are allocated to the implementing organization and subsystems. Leads matrixed systems engineering and integration personnel in review and execution of ground processing, integrated test and launch operations planning for ground systems required to support vehicle, spacecraft, and payload processing. Provides systems engineering and integration support to Ground Support Equipment testing in support of processing operations, as well as launch countdown support from the Firing Room Integration Console. Confirms integrated verifications associated with Moon to Mars (M2M) Requirement closures delegated to the Phase have not been invalidated by waivers or deviations, non-conformances, or design changes. Leads definition, negotiation, and management of Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program efforts for critical program integration with the human space flight Programs. Leads support subsystem and program level trade studies and technical assessments and presents their findings to boards for their approval.
