Join us in bringing joy to customer experience. Five9 is a leading provider of cloud contact center software, bringing the power of cloud innovation to customers worldwide. Living our values everyday results in our team-first culture and enables us to innovate, grow, and thrive while enjoying the journey together. We celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive environment, empowering our employees to be their authentic selves. Role Overview Build a high-performance, desktop screen recording platform that operates reliably at the system level across operating systems. This role focuses on deep OS integration, screen capture pipelines, performance optimization, and robust desktop architecture, with Windows as the primary platform and macOS/Linux as secondary targets. You will work extensively with OS level APIs, managing multi-display environments, and building reliable screen capture pipelines that integrate seamlessly with browser extensions, web surfaces, and backend services.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development Design, develop, and maintain a cross-platform desktop screen recording application for Windows/Mac/Linux. Implement reliable screen capture pipelines using native OS APIs. Build robust configuration and control mechanisms suitable for enterprise deployments. Develop and maintain installers and packaging for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Integrate the desktop application with browser extensions (Chrome/Firefox) and web interfaces for recording control and state sync. System Integration & Performance Optimize recording workflows for low CPU, memory, and disk overhead, even during long sessions. Work with Windows native APIs for screen capture, window enumeration, display detection, and system resource management. Handle complex multi-monitor setups, DPI scaling, resolution changes, and dynamic display reconfiguration. Implement structured logging, diagnostics, and crash reporting to support observability at scale. Collaborate with backend teams to ensure reliable chunked uploads, retries, and fault tolerance during recording sessions. Quality & Maintenance Write unit, integration, and system-level tests for critical desktop components. Debug and resolve platform-specific issues, with deep ownership of Windows-related problems. Participate actively in design reviews and code reviews, raising the bar on system reliability. Maintain clear technical documentation for installation, customer onboarding, configuration, and operational behavior.
