The Role

As a Decision Engine Team Lead, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the assigned team. Your responsibilities include collaborating with SoFi Engineering and other BU teams, facilitating effective communication among team members, participating in technical and business meetings, and overall ownership of the team's success. Additionally, you are expected to leverage your expertise to contribute value to the team.

What You'll Do

Crafting Rulesets and Automation

Demonstrate proficiency in formulating rulesets within the decision engine. Implement automation processes through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).

Software Experience

Possess software development skills encompassing the entire SDLC

Debugging and Problem-Solving

Apply robust debugging skills and showcase proficiency in root cause analysis.

SQL Proficiency

Utilize foundational SQL skills, with a preference for experience in handling complex SQL scenarios.

Guidance and Training

Demonstrate the ability to guide and train new team members effectively.

Communication and Collaboration

Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure seamless strategy implementation. Provide insight into project timelines. Work with the technical or business leaders to develop rulesets most efficiently.

Coaching and Guidance

Coach and guide team members on best practices, areas of improvement, and other success criteria. Responsible for team performance tracking including bugs, velocity, and other team metrics

What You Need

Experience

5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or AI/ML development. Prior experience in financial service-oriented development is a plus. Prior experience with a decision engine is a plus.

Leadership Drive

Exhibit a strong drive to own your team and product.

Technical Proficiency

Senior-level experience in Python and JavaScript. Demonstrate experience in debugging, technical problem-solving, and investigative skills.

SQL Operations

Proficiency in basic to complex SQL operations.

Agile Development

Prior experience with Agile development methodologies/techniques is preferred.

Team Training and Supervision

Experience in training and supervising team members. Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this role is listed below.
