Job Overview The Parts Analyst is responsible for maintaining service parts accuracy, availability, and inventory planning through effective management of MRP-driven demand, manual stocking levels, and Service Parts Bill of Material (SBOM) structures. This role serves as the operational “heartbeat” of the service parts process, ensuring that stocking parameters remain current, service inventory is aligned to vehicle population, and parts data integrity is maintained across all service parts systems. The Parts Analyst will manage SBOM structures, support Purchased-In-Assembly (PIA) sourcing needs, assist in service kit creation, and provide reporting to support service readiness, warranty execution, and field action planning. This role is critical to ensuring parts availability, reducing downtime, and preventing inventory shortages or excess. What You’ll Do Service Parts Planning & Inventory Management Monitor and manage service parts stocking levels, including both MRP-driven replenishment and manually controlled min/max settings. Evaluate part usage trends, vehicle population, warranty activity, and field service requirements to recommend stocking adjustments. Identify service parts shortages and proactively coordinate replenishment plans with Supply Chain and Purchasing. Support service readiness planning for new product launches, engineering changes, and field actions. Own/support purchasing activities for service-specific parts, including PIA components and first-time buys. Service Parts Bill of Material (SBOM) Ownership Own and maintain the Service Bill of Material (SBOM), including all associated structures and service part relationships. Ensure SBOM accuracy across standard service parts lists, PIA components, and internally assembled (“Make Parts”) items. Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to ensure parts applicability, configuration, and usage logic are correctly captured. Support SBOM updates related to engineering changes, supersessions, and compatibility requirements. Purchased-In-Assembly (PIA) Support Assist Supply Chain and Purchasing in identifying and sourcing PIA components required for service needs. Ensure service demand is considered when PIAs are modified, replaced, or become obsolete. Support planning and readiness of PIAs needed for service kits, warranty replacements, and service bulletin repairs. Service Kit Creation & Part Number Management Create and manage service kit part numbers and kit structures for service bulletins, campaigns, field actions, and non-production repair requirements. Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to validate kit content, revision control, and service applicability. Ensure kit parts are correctly documented and available for ordering in the service parts system and EPC where applicable. Reporting & Data Analysis Develop and maintain service parts reporting, including inventory health, backorder tracking, demand trends, critical shortages, and readiness metrics. Provide routine reporting to Service leadership and cross-functional teams. Support KPI reporting related to service parts availability, fill rate, aging inventory, and MRP performance. Process Improvement & System Integrity Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service parts planning processes and data integrity. Identify and correct part master data issues, SBOM errors, and stocking parameter discrepancies. Partner with IT and system owners to ensure proper ERP/MRP setup and ongoing accuracy. Perform other related duties and participate in meetings as assigned by management. Experience working with MRP/ERP systems and inventory planning logic (min/max, reorder points, lead time planning). Strong project management experience Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast- paced, entrepreneurial environment.
