What you'll be doing
Prepare samples, measure and document electrical and physical properties of solar materials. Carry out DOEs. Troubleshoot instrumentation problems and issues. Write and update SOPs and work instructions. Assist engineers to clean, set up, maintain, and use semiconductor process equipment such as sputtering systems, PVD systems, liquid-based deposition systems, and/or characterization tools.
What you will bring to this role
Inquisitive personality with an eye toward fine details. Openness to learning new skills, concepts and technologies. AS/BS in a STEM discipline, or similar experience. Mechanical aptitude and hands-on proficiency. Excellent verbal and written skills communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Proficient in MS office package.
Extra points for the following
Experience in design of experiments (DOE), metrology and/or failure analysis. 3 or more years experience in semiconductor FABs. Exposure to the function, characteristics and measurement of solar modules. Familiarity of thin film deposition processes and techniques. Degree(s) in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
