Senior Software Engineer We're looking for a full-time Senior Software Engineer to join us in our mission of bringing the ION Factory OS to next-generation hardware builders around the globe. We are looking for engineers who leverage AI coding tools to build end-to-end features with unprecedented speed and quality. Our newest recruit will join the First Resonance team full-time in Los Angeles, CA (HQ in El Segundo) as a foundational member of our product team. Why This Role? End-to-End Feature Ownership

Use AI-augmented workflows (Claude) to build and deploy full-stack features using Python (Backend) and Next.js/TypeScript (Frontend).

API & Data Architecture

Develop high-performance GraphQL mutations and queries; design relational database models in Postgres that reflect complex industrial processes.

Cloud Infrastructure

Build and maintain scalable services on

AWS

, leveraging modern infrastructure patterns.

AI-Driven Productivity

Lead the team in adopting AI tools to automate boilerplate, refactor legacy logic, and accelerate the "idea-to-production" cycle.

Technical Leadership

Write design specifications and diagrams (UML/System Flow) that guide both human teammates and AI agents.

Reliability

Drive code-level architecture, modularity, and comprehensive testing (Pytest, Jest) to ensure ion remains mission-critical for our customers. Qualifications & Skills

6+ years of technical experience

You’ve built and scaled production-grade software.

AI-Native Workflow

You are "pro-AI" and actively use coding assistants to increase your output and code quality.

Backend Mastery

Expert-level Python skills with a deep understanding of ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy) and asynchronous processing.

Modern Frontend

Proficiency in TypeScript , React , and Next.js .

Cloud & Infra

Hands-on experience with

AWS

ecosystem and deploying multi-tenant SaaS environments.

API Design

Strong experience with GraphQL and architectural patterns like Domain Driven Design (DDD) or Event-Driven systems.

Problem Solver

You enjoy collaborating across departments and "flexing your creative muscle" to solve hardware-world problems with software. Desired Qualifications Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK). Experience building manufacturing tools or working in high-stakes industrial environments.
