Within Checkr, Truework operates independently, allowing rapid iteration while also being able to leverage the strengths and assets from our core business. Think of it like joining a startup within a startup! We’re a team that thrives on solving complex problems with innovative solutions that advance our mission. Checkr is recognized on Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List and is a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company. About the team/role We're hiring a Senior Growth & Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the end-to-end self-serve funnel for Truework: from the moment a visitor lands on our site to the moment they become an activated, retained customer. You'll sit at the intersection of Marketing and Product, partnering closely with our PMM, Product, Design, and Web Engineering teams to map, build, and continuously improve the experience that drives our self-serve revenue. This is a high-autonomy, high-visibility role with real ownership. If you've thrived in PLG environments and love the craft of turning a leaky funnel into a compounding growth engine, this role was built for you. What you’ll do
Website Optimization
You own the Truework marketing site as a growth surface. You'll partner with Web Engineering and Design to run a continuous experimentation program, testing messaging, CTAs, page structure, and signup flows to drive measurable improvements in website conversion.
Lifecycle Marketing
You'll design and scale the full post-lead journey: from first-touch nurture through activation, feature adoption, and long-term retention. This means owning email and in-product messaging strategy, building behavioral segmentation, and creating automated programs that turn signups into active, paying customers.
Self-Serve Experience Partnership
You'll be the marketing half of a tight partnership with Product and Design, co-owning the self-serve onboarding and activation experience. Together you'll close the gap between "signed up" and "got value."
SEO & AEO Strategy
You'll own the strategy and roadmap for organic search and answer engine optimization: identifying content and technical opportunities, prioritizing based on impact, and coordinating execution through contractor resources. Deep SEO execution expertise is a plus, not a requirement (we have deep SEO expertise on the Checkr team who can help advise on this program).
Cross-functional Collaboration
You will partner day-to-day with
Product & Design: co-owning the self-serve UX and onboarding experience PMM: aligning on messaging, positioning, and ICP targeting Performance Marketing: sharing funnel data, coordinating on conversion Web Engineering: shipping website experiences and experiments What you bring 6+ years in growth or lifecycle marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS with a PLG or self-serve motion. Hands-on experience owning website CRO. You've run A/B tests, dug into session data, and shipped changes that moved conversion metrics. Strong lifecycle marketing fundamentals: behavioral segmentation, triggered campaigns, multi-channel journeys (email + in-product), and a track record of improving activation or retention. Experience working directly with Product and Engineering on PLG strategy and end to end user experience Data-driven decision-making with proficiency in analytics tools (Google Analytics and Omni, Looker, or similar); ability to build your own dashboards and answer your own questions. Experience with SQL is a plus.
