Description

Responsibilities
Own the development and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, process utilities, process piping and other mechanical design and construction standards for the company. Participate in the early programming and development of various capital project scopes of work and documentation of project requirements with a focus on mechanical systems. Support development and issuance of requests for proposals and qualifications for various capital projects to 3 rd party engineers, architects, design-build contractors and general contractors. Review and comment on 3 rd party mechanical designs for capital projects and provide owner based subject matter specialist (SMS) input and direction to internal and external teams. Provide internal design, system, equipment sizing, and design documentation on small capital projects as needed. Complete field visits during capital construction projects to represent owner and observe general mechanical installation and commissioning activities. Design management of small capital projects as needed. Travel anticipated to be up to 10% of the time for project specific visits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, or a related field. Licensed engineer (PE preferred). 5+ years of design, commissioning, and/or construction of HVAC, plumbing, industrial utility and process piping systems for industrial and manufacturing projects. Experience with the design of industrial specialty exhaust systems and emissions abatement preferred. Strong knowledge of building and energy codes including but not limited to IBC, IMC, IECC, IFC, IPC, ASHRAE, and NFPA as well as associated industry standards and code referenced technical guidelines. Proficient in developing design standards, technical project requirements documents, requests for proposals. Experience with completing 3 rd party design reviews and directing engineering, production and construction teams. Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred. Demonstrated success developing innovative solutions to a broad range of mechanical engineering problems. Experience with the entire capital project life cycle. Design management experience preferred.
