Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Network Deployment Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for triaging incoming network deployment requests, designing network solutions, creating detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), and generating accurate port maps to support seamless network deployments across various environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Triage & Planning

Evaluate and prioritize incoming network deployment project requests. Work with project managers, site leads, and stakeholders to gather technical requirements and project scope. Assess technical feasibility and risks for new deployments.

Network Design & Documentation

Design and document Layer 2 and Layer 3 network topologies based on deployment requirements. Produce detailed and scalable network deployment plans. Create and maintain port maps aligning logical and physical port assignments.

Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation

Generate accurate and complete BOMs for hardware, optics, cabling, and supporting infrastructure. Collaborate with procurement and vendors to ensure equipment availability and compatibility. Track and update BOMs through project lifecycle.

Implementation Support

Provide technical support during deployment phases, including hardware installation and configuration. Interface with on-site technicians and remote teams for successful implementation. Participate in network turn-ups, testing, and validation.

Operational Handover

Ensure all documentation (BOMs, port maps, network diagrams) is updated and handed over to operations teams. Support the development of standard deployment templates and documentation processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in network engineering or network deployment roles. Strong understanding of enterprise-level networking (switching, routing, IP addressing, cabling standards). Experience with creating BOMs , port maps , and network documentation. Proficient with network tools such as Visio, NetBox, Excel, and/or other asset management systems. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data center or campus network deployments. Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or other enterprise networking gear. Knowledge of structured cabling design and implementation. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
