About the Role
The Head of Audience Insights & Measurement (AIM) for Quizlet Ads will architect Quizlet’s Ads research organization. This role will be responsible for 4 major functions in forging Quizlet Ad’s data advantage - 1) create demand for Quizlet’s 1P logged-in audience data, 2) found a world-class data studio serviced by a team of research professionals and the industry’s leading data providers, 3) build an ad effectiveness service using traditional and proprietary Quizlet brand KPIs and 4) author original marketing content as thought leadership material, both broadly in the press and bespoke to clients & verticals.
As the leader and founder of these new services and team, you will create best-in-class data solutions for Quizlet’s existing endemic clients as well as tailor solutions for Quizlet’s expanded non-endemic business. You will develop a thought leadership strategy and commercialize data solutions that drive client demand across all verticals. You will build on the needs of existing clients today and pave the way for the needs of new clients tomorrow.
You will create a flywheel of audience insights to power ad intelligence at Quizlet. The teams you lead fuel client campaigns with the best 1P audience data on Gen Z and Millennials, and then build a narrative around effectiveness with traditional and proprietary ad effectiveness techniques. The more work your team does, the smarter Quizlet Ads becomes. You will create a database of norms and benchmarks across audiences, industries, and platforms, so Quizlet Ads can continue to push boundaries in the ad space.
This role is highly visible across all stakeholders, primarily responsible for identifying, ideating, and executing commercial data opportunities that drive revenue across Quizlet Ads.
This role is onsite in our San Francisco or New York office. To support collaboration, we ask employees to be in the office at least three days a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
In this role, you will
Create a global ad sales research service: Build a marketing measurement and audience roadmap that leads the market in terms of data services and capabilities Accelerate Q-IQ: Our 1P data system that powers ad performance, optimization, measurement and insights Architect Quizlet’s 1P data studio: Imagine and construct Quizlet’s managed service around 1P data, including proprietary audience taxonomy, visualization dashboards, and bespoke advertising and data narrative insights Pioneer data commercialization: Develop Quizlet’s in-house insights services that drive direct or indirect revenue impact. Create added value data services that help close advertising deals or construct managed data services sold to clients directly Scale thought leadership globally: Author original thought leadership positioning using 1P data with a vision towards scale and downstream customization for verticals and clients Own the build: of world class primary research, data analytics, and advertising insights Forge data partnerships with the industry’s leading research & data providers: Partner with executive leaders across the data analytics and custom research space, advocating Quizlet’s needs and evangelizing data innovation across vendor partners Lead stakeholder coalitions: Drive impact in our high-growth organization, leveraging excellent communication and business acumen. Go beyond influencing to inspire internal and external business partners across Sales, Marketing, Operations, PR, Product, Engineer, and 3rd party data suppliers Construct and execute Quizlet’s enterprise research budget - Assess the needs of Quizlet Ads, develop a comprehensive budget plan, and negotiate preferred rates and services with research vendors
What you bring to the table
13 + years of relevant experience with 6+ years in ad sales research leading 1P data commercialization strategy BA/BS required 8+ years experience partnering with leading measurement providers (e.g. Comscore, Nielsen, Kantar, DISQO, GWI, etc.) 6+ years experience leveraging digital analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, DMPs, clean room activation etc.) Superior communication and presentation skills, with ability to present and translate complex information to both executive and technical partners while staying focused on our business goals Excellent track record of building relationships and partnering with internal & external clients on complex business problems to develop actionable recommendations Multi-disciplined leader with applied experience across several insights & data functions, including media insights, data analytics, and primary research. Bold leadership style that is inclusive, collaborative, and empathetic Intuitive business acumen with the ability to form new ideas across emerging market demand and initiatives, enhancing revenue-driving potential for the brand across unexpected angles Executive-level business partnership internally and externally Ability to lead programs that require influence across many functions and levels Budget management acumen with the ability to rationalize, evangelize, and maximize financial investment across data partners
