We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented State Government Affairs intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state government relations and public policy. You will assist with various government affairs projects, including Capitol Leaders event support, creating policy materials, social media outreach, and advocacy efforts, while also gaining exposure to the legislative process and the work of a government affairs team.

How You Will Contribute Legislative Research and Tracking: Monitor and track federal legislation, bills, and regulations relevant to the organization's interests Policy Analysis: Assist in evaluating the impact of proposed federal policies and legislation on the organization Government Relations Support: Support communication and outreach with federal legislators, government agencies, and other stakeholders General Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day operations of the government affairs office, including scheduling, preparing materials, and coordinating meetings Prepare Briefings: Compile research and prepare summaries and reports for internal stakeholders Coalitions: Attend meetings with coalition partners and federal organizations Public policy transformation through strategic partnerships and coalitions

What You Will Bring Strong interest in government affairs, public policy, and the legislative process Excellent research, writing and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Ability to work with basic direction and move forward with initiative and critical thinking Ability to meet deadlines and act with appropriate sense of urgency Enthusiastic about and dedicated to the vision and principles of our organization
