Spreetail is seeking a Manager, Merchandising Finance who will play a critical role at the intersection of finance and merchandising, providing strategic financial partnership to guide key business decisions. This role is responsible for analyzing pricing strategies, product performance, and category profitability, while building and maintaining financial models, forecasts, and dashboards to support budgeting, assortment planning, and new product launches. Leveraging tools like SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and advanced Excel, the manager delivers actionable insights through PVM analysis, margin optimization, and scenario planning. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including Merchandising, FP&A, Supply Chain, and Marketing—this position ensures data-driven decisions that maximize profitability, operational efficiency, and growth in a fast-paced retail environment.
What experiences will help you in this role
Experience partnering with Merchandising or Category teams in an operational finance role, providing actionable insights on pricing, promotions, assortment decisions, and category profitability. Strong background in Price, Volume, Mix (PVM) analysis, with the ability to explain business drivers, isolate impact, and influence commercial decisions through clear financial storytelling. Hands-on experience supporting new SKU, brand, or assortment launches, including forecasting, margin modeling, cannibalization analysis, and post-launch performance measurement. Exposure to marketing spend analysis and incrementality, collaborating with Marketing and FP&A to evaluate ROI, trade-offs, and impacts to demand, margin, and inventory. Prior experience in traditional brick-and-mortar or omnichannel retail finance, bringing transferable skills in SKU-level analysis, inventory economics, and operational rigor that scale well into ecommerce environments.

Leverage a strong foundation in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Data Analytics to provide accurate, actionable insights that drive merchandising and business decisions. Apply 4–7 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or merchandising finance, preferably with retail or e-commerce exposure, to support pricing strategies, assortment planning, and product launches. Utilize SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and advanced Excel skills to extract, analyze, and visualize complex data sets, creating automated reports and dashboards that inform business strategy. Conduct in-depth financial modeling, PVM analysis, and scenario planning to identify opportunities for margin improvement, inventory efficiency, and overall category profitability. Communicate findings clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams, translating complex data into actionable recommendations that drive alignment and support fast-paced business objectives.
