Position Description
We are seeking a highly motivated team player for production work in roadway design engineering. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and possess at least 8 years of experience in roadway related design projects for MDOT or ODOT and local agencies. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of AASHTO, MDOT or ODOT, and local roadway design standards and will plan production procedures. This position also prefers that the candidate has 8 years of experience designing with both 2D and 3D elements of either Bentley OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience should include both horizontal and vertical alignments, corridor modeling, and surface creation and grading. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include
Performs research, analysis and design for roadways, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, pavement and temporary traffic control plans. Prepare engineering analysis, studies, reports, technical specifications, and quantity and cost estimates. Prepare engineering scope of services, and labor and cost estimates for specific tasks. Monitor task budgets and schedules, and prepare project status and other reports. Communicate project details with other designers and engineers. Conduct quality control reviews of analysis, design plans and cost estimates. Participate in oral technical presentations. Attend and/or conduct client, internal project meetings and on-site inspections as needed. Attend professional development seminars and/or training classes. Maintain excellent client relations. Maintain a safe working environment.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
